In 2014, Scannell Properties approached Wonderful Real Estate to purchase land for a FedEx Ground Sort facility at Wonderful Industrial Park (WIP).

 

Scannell worked extensively with FedEx over the years, and they identified WIP as the optimal location. This hub would serve as a regional ground distribution center for the broader Bakersfield market.

 

Wonderful Real Estate sold 21.12 acres to Scannell, which immediately began construction on FedEx’s 210,155 square foot facility.

 

The FedEx facility began operating in October 2015.

 

Companies operating out of WIP benefit from a 9:00 PM cutoff time for shipments through FedEx, allowing extended time for orders and deliveries to customers in Mountain and Central time zones.
